Introduction:

                     Ragging is a disturbing reality which has plagued the educational system in Higher Educational Institution thus impeding equity and diversity.

 

Definition of ragging as per UGC guidelines:

                     Ragging is defined as any disorderly conduct, whether by words spoken or written or by any act has the effect of tearing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or a junior student. Indulging in a rowdy or undisciplined activity that courses or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear in a fresher or student. Asking the students to do any act or perform something that such students will not do in the ordinary course and causing shame or embarrassment thus leading to depression, anxiety and even sometimes suicide.

 

Mission:

                 To Foster a Ragging-Free environment, Shri Vardhman Kanya Mahavidhyalaya, Beawar, prioritizes democratic values, empathy and tolerance. Through open dialogue and community engagement, we nurture responsible citizens who respect and support one another.

 

Vision:

                  To instill discipline and zero tolerance towards ragging, Shri Vardhman Kanya Mahavidhyalaya, Beawar unequivocally communicates that any form of ragging within the college premises will not be tolerated.

 

Objectives:

   1. To enforce strict regulations prohibiting any form of behaviour, whether verbal or written, that may demean, tease or disrespect a fresher or any student.

   2. To foster an understanding among students regarding the severe repercussions of engaging in ragging activities, promoting empathy and respect for

       fellow peers.

   3. To maintain continuous surveillance and vigilance to promptly identify and prevent any instances of ragging within the campus premises.

   4. To promptly address and resolve any reported cases of ragging, taking swift and appropriate action as advised by the dedicated committee, ensuring a

       safe and supportive environment for all students.

 

Punishment Provisions:

Any student or group of students found guilty of ragging on campus or off campus shall be liable to one or more of the following punishments.

   1. Debarring from appearing in any sessional test/university examination or results.

   2. Suspension from attending classes.

   3. Cancellation of admission

   4. Debarring from representing institution in any national or state tournament, youth festival etc.

   5. Rustication from the institution for periods varying from 1 to 4 semester or equivalent period.

 

Steps taken by the college to Ensure a Ragging free Campus:

    1. Strengthening of anti-ragging mechanism by adequate publicity through various medium (Prospectus, posts, warning, boards, college website, class

        whatsapp groups) etc.

    2. Constitution of Anti-Ragging Committee in our college and timely action taken on miscreants.

    3. Installation of CCTV cameras at vital points.

    4. Organizing anti-ragging interaction, workshops and seminars for the fresher and senior students.

    5. Surprise inspections of canteens, toilets, recreational rooms and other strategic locations.
